UTEP track and field legend qualifies for 100-meter dash semis in Rio
RIO DE JANEIRO –Former Miner Blessing Okagbare earned an automatic spot in the semifinals in the women’s 100m onFridaynight.
The sprinter crossed the finish line with ease in the third heat of the night, clocking in a time of 11.16. The three-time Olympian goes into the semifinals tied for seventh overall.
Okagbare will be in actiontomorrowat 6 p.m. MT in the 100m semifinals and if she advances will take the track at 7:35 p.m. in the finals. Former Miner Churandy Martina will also be in action in the men’s 100m at 9 a.m.
