El Dorado season preview
high school football season is 11 days away for most teams…just ten away for some. while many teams are looking to rebuild, el dorado is bringing back some big weapons. and this year, their road might be paved with gold. el dorado can score points. last year, they put up 40 or more in 7 games …and even score 70 twice. this year they bring back receivers george hernandez…. and washington state commit…tyquez hampton. you know, tyquez of course, he’s kind of the standout guy. but we’ve got plenty of playmakers around him. you know, george hernandez was our leading receiver last year. quarterback sidarius barfield has been great. what is new this year …is the head coach …ruben torres takes over for legendary coach jim althoff. oh, he a handful, i’ll tell you that much. but you know, since he came he’s helped us develop new ways of running routes, easier ways of running routes to make them more effective. the aztecs will grab their helmets for game one next week against eastlake…knowing the sky is the limit. but for all their offensive power…the defense can play as well. they came straight soon as we got our pads. they started hitting and knocking heads, and that’s something that every football team needs. we’re actually like a family now. everybody has a chance to play where they want to play. everybody is coming after us like we’re number one. so we’ve got to show up and play our hardest and stay number one.” as i mentioned, el dorado opens against eastlake. their game last year featured 119 combined
