Police: Toddler drowned after falling into bucket filled with water
El Paso Police say a 15-month-old toddler drowned Thursday night after falling into a bucket filled with water.
Police identified the toddler Friday morning as Nayeli Castro.
The girl was found “without signs of life” at a home on the 8300 block of Mercury Street, police said. That is near Edgar Park Avenue.
Police said family members tried performing CPR on the child when they found her.
A spokesperson for the El Paso Fire Department said the toddler was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
