Las Cruces man allegedly threatens woman, boy with a knife

Police accused a man of threatening to kill a woman and her young nephew Sunday night.

Martin Sedillo, 53, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police said Sedillo was walking near the intersection of Colorado Avenue and Lees Drive around 7:30 pm when a 21-year-old woman and her 12-year-old nephew heard him yelling at another woman.

When Sedillo saw the woman and her nephew, he allegedly pulled out a knife and started running after the two victims, threatening to kill them.

Both the woman and her nephew were able to hide inside their home. Police were called and Sedillo was arrested on Colorado Avenue near Solano Drive.

Sedillo was booked into the Dona Ana County Dentention Center on a $7,500 bond.
