UPDATE: Authorities identify 2 El Pasoans killed in shuttle-bus crash in Boston

Two El Pasoans died and a third was injured in a shuttle crash near an airport in Boston Wednesday morning.

According to state police in Boston, the crash happened around 1:15 a.m. local time. They said a Subaru Legacy was exiting the highway and rear-ended a Hampton Inn shuttle bus, which was on its way to Logan International Airport.

Massachusetts State Police identified the El Paso victims as 59-year-old Joseph A. Rodriguez and 47-year-old Sandra L. Arreola. A 57-year-old woman from El Paso, who was a passenger in the bus, remains hospitalized at Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries.

Two other people on the shuttle, the 53-year-old driver and a 45-year-old man from Tampa, Fla., were taken to Tufts Medical Center. Their injuries were described as non-incapacitating

The driver and owner of the Subaru, a 27-year-old Saugus man, remains at Tufts Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries, Massachusetts State Police said.

The shuttle has seat belts, but it is still under investigation if the riders were using them. The crash also remains under investigation to determine if criminal charges will be sought.

The family of the two killed have set up a GoFund Me account to help raise money to bring the bodies back to El Paso.

According to the page, Rodriguez had just arrived in Boston with his wife for a vacation.
