Son charged with killing mother, 85, at her Fort Worth home
A man has been charged with killing his 85-year-old mother at her North Texas home following an argument. Fort Worth police on Thursday announced the arrest of 50-year-old Kenneth Baker on a murder charge. The body of Margaret Shelton was located Wednesday afternoon in her kitchen, after Baker let police into the residence. Fort Worth police say a 911 caller told a dispatcher that he killed his mother. Investigators are seeking a motive and why the pair argued. A medical examiner didn’t immediately release a cause or manner of death. Jail records show Baker was being held on $250,000 bond, with no attorney listed to speak for him. Police say the victim’s dog was found dead in the garage and Baker told investigators that he also killed the pet.
