blitz sponsored by southwest university. it is the longest running, most watched high school football show in town. two games of the week this week just like last week. that’s how good the start of the season has been. up first, we have a bit of the old and the new. it’s andress hosting pebble hills– and keep in mind this is pebble hills first year at the varsity level and they don’t even have one senior on the team! it is one of our games of the week… pebble hills and andress…from andress high. 1st half begins at 6-0 pebble hills on top 1) dominique smith with a hand off to xavier williams pushes it in for a td score 7 -6 eagles on top 2. orlando puig with a pass to justin wolfe making it 13 -7 pebble hills ontop. 3) dominique smith with a short pass to otho redding making it 14 -13 andress pebble hills 2nd half 2nd half was delayed about 20 minutes because of a injury on the field. a cheerleader was taken to a hospital no word on her condition 1) pebble hills quickly set the tone with this kick return by haredt gonzales making it 28-21 andress on top 2. orlando puig with a pass to haredt gonzales once again making it 28-27 andress on top 3. andress closed it off with this hand off from dominique smith to jalen joseph for the win i didn’t get final score!!! the final score in this one… andress wins 35-27 sot with jeff woodruff — andress head coach. last week, montwood put up a valiant effort against frenship, but fell a little short. this week, another el paso school gets a chance to knock off frenship. this time, it’s el dorado’s turn. that takes us to our second game of the week! to the sac we go …el dorado hosting frenship! but it’s the tigers that strike first. garrison johnson right up the middle who finds the the endzone early on to go up 7- nothing. but el dorado bounces back. and this seems to be a common theme for qb cedarious barfield! make it 2 weeks in a row! the keeper as he hops into the endzone to tie it at 7. so the aztecs down a score…when barfield gonna just throw it up tohis favorite target… and tyquez hampton showing off the hops as he holds on to put 6 on the board! but watch at this play!! frenship looking like boise state!! with the hook and ladder…. a gain of 65 yards until this man touches the ball again. garrison johnson …more than 300 rushing yards and 4 scores on the day as he couldn’t be stopped. and then to top it off….a frenship sack on barfield… no luck late as the aztecs fall 42-28. here is el dorado head coach ruben torres with his thoughts after the game. “well, you know what, the great thing is that it’s early…get ready for midland lee. montwood playing an out of town opponent for the second straight week. as we mentioned, they lost to frenship in week one. week two opponent is midland, so how would the rams fare this time around? midland over montwood 31-21 in the third quarter how about this one? franklin how about this one? franklin hosting odessa permian… permian has their mojho going… already up 41-0 …yes…41-0…3rd quarter…it’s kobe robinson on the swing pass…he takes it down inside the 25 yard line for a permian first down. same drive…it’s robinson, this time takes the pitch… too much size and speed for franklin on the night.. permian is a beast… permian wins 61-0 parkland and socorro…parkland looked good in week one beating jefferson 53-8. parkland wins 27-14 it’s a matchup of maybe the best team in el paso and thee best team in the state of new mexico. we’re talking americas traveling to the land of enchantment to play rio rancho – a team that absolutely crushed mayfield last week at mayfield. . rio rancho wins 31-7 eastwood with a dramatic comeback last week to knock off midland christian… taking on bel air this week in a rivalry game … eastwood wins 50-20 del valle hosting the mayfield trojans! this one started out slow…but picked up at the end of the first. mayfields torry locklin scrambling left and heaves it downfield…. and he connects with gaven swinson! stays inbounds and goes 70 plus yards to the house for the 7 zip lead. and del valle is gonna need a deep breath after that one. but the very next play…on the kickoff ..del valle returns it 100 yards for the score!! jose valenzuela!! huge special teams play to tie it up! and its mayfield who wins a close one 23 to 21 it’s time for the war of the week…some would say the best part of the show. … let’s send it out to brittany carlock and amy solis: las cruces high had to travel to albuquerque for its first game…a win over el dorado of new mexico…not el paso el dorado. their commute a little easier in week two…just had to go to the field of dreams. the bulldawgs hosting cibola… las cruces wins 21-0 it’s time to check in on the world of social media…the facebook…the twitter …the snapchat…the instagram. things of that nature. our very own adrian medina is live… adrian what do you have for us today?
