Chihuahaus looking to win 2 straight against Oklahoma City

The El Paso Chihuahuas trailed by five runs early Tuesday before coming back to beat Oklahoma City 7-5 in Game 1 of the Pacific Coast League Championship series. The Chihuahuas lead the best-of-five series one game to none.

While the ballpark may not have been sold out, GM Brad Taylor, and the players are still happy with the turnout.

“The people that are gonna be here are the ones that want to be here,” Taylor said. “They’re the loudest, the most ardent-supporters., and they’re the ones that are gonna make this lively and exciting.”

While Left Fielder Patrick Kivelhan agreed.

“They’ve had our backs this whole playoffs,” Kivelhan said. “You know, they came out last night and they were electric. So, you know, when they’re going and they’re happy it makes us play better.”

Goris now has six RBIs in five postseason games. El Paso’s bullpen held Oklahoma City without a run or a hit Tuesday and has allowed only two runs in five playoff games.
