ABC-7 Listens 09.17.16

lalo and our general manager weighed in! now it’s your turn. rick cabrera has what our viewers think should be considered the lower valley in abc-7 listens: last week you heard from lalo … one of our viewers … and our general manager … kevin lovell. basically kevin believes places like socorro, tornillo, clint, fabens and san eli are part of the lower valley. and county commissioner vince perez … who represents the lower valley agreed. however, lalo sees the lower valley as ending around the area around del valle high school. lalo has a supporter in bea. “m family has been here over 100 years! i agree with lalo. he is right! back then glenwood st. was almost the outskirts of el paso. “i remembe fields of cotton, mixed with all other kinds of vegetables.” but bea was th only one who agreed with lalo. from irma … ” just want to say that ysleta, socorro, clint, san eli, tornillo, fabens have always been known to be the lower valley. “born and raised in ysleta. now i live in socorro. “i have gotten old with the city. i’ve seen el paso grow to what it is today. “ysleta and all the other towns have been referred to as the lower valley. that simple!” and v-gomez … “the reason i agree with kevin is that i consider all areas where farms and agriculture were a staple of the area.” charlie also thinks kevin is spot on! “regarding ‘what comprises th lower valley?’ “my family lineage can be traced back to 1830 and it has always been referred to as ‘el valle bajo.'” no disrespect to lalo and bea … they certainly have every right to their opinion … but we will continue to use the bajo.'” no disrespect to lalo and bea … they certainly have every right to their opinion … but we will continue to use the more inclusive definition of the lower valley here at abc-7 … with socorro, clint, san eli, fabens and tornillo all being considered part of “el valle bajo!” ric cabrera. abc-7 listens. a flight delay may not be
