Carlsbad man found alive 3 days after being shot
Eddy County sheriff’s officials say a man has been found alive three days after being shot and a suspect is in custody.
The Carlsbad Current-Argus reported Friday that 28-year-old David Sherman has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
A Carlsbad police detective found the victim in a remote area of the county conscious and breathing early Thursday.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Hutchinson says he is currently in critical condition at a Texas hospital.
According to Hutchinson, the sheriff’s office and Carlsbad police received information that someone was injured in that area.
Authorities did not say what led them to suspect Sherman, who is being held in a detention center pending an initial appearance in court.
