Suspect in killing of Bliss soldier in custody; awaiting extradition to El Paso

Detectives with the Crimes Against Persons (CAP) unit secured an arrest warrant for 22-year old Daniel David Ferris for the murder of 19-year old Dante Naken Long.

Long, a Fort Bliss soldier, was stabbed and killed September 23, 2016 on the 100 block of S. Anthony in the Union Plaza district.

Ferris, of Chino, California, was taken into custody Tuesday, October 11, 2016 by the U.S. Marshals and the Ontario Police Department.

His bond has been set at $1-million. Ferris is being held in California awaiting extradition
