Sun Metro to offer free bus rides to voters on Election Day
City council approved free Sun Metro bus rides for passengers who present a valid voter registration card on Election Day, November 8, 2016.
The “Ride Sun Metro to Vote” initiative would be the first time Sun Metro’s services would be offered to help voters get to the polls.
The initiative includes free bus service and the “Lift” para-transit service. Registered para-transit bus riders still need to schedule their trip in accordance with policies and procedures.
The initiative is meant to improve voter turnout.
