Police: Man wearing skull mask robs East Side bank

Police are investigating a bank robbery at the First Savings Bank located at 1701 Saul Kleinfield in Far East El Paso.

The suspect was last seen wearing a light grey sweater with the hoodie turned inside out, grey sweat pants, white shoes and a silver skull mask.

The robbery happened at about 11 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Soon after the bank robbery, a spokesman with the Socorro Independent School District told ABC-7 a “shelter in place” order was in effect at three nearby schools: Montwood High, Helen Ball Elementary, and William D. Slider Middle.

Students could not leave campus for hours as a precautionary measure.
