Drunk driver driving the wrong way on Alameda, police say
A woman driving drunk was also driving the wrong way on Alameda, police said.
Police arrested Lori Duque, 32, and charged her with DWI. She was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $5,725.
Shortly before 3 a.m., an officer spotted Duque driving a black GMC Yukon south on Copia at Alameda.
Duque made an eastbound turn onto Alameda, but allegedly turned into the westbound lanes of Alameda, driving the wrong way, police said.
Duque then allegedly drove over the raised curb and crossed into the eastbound lanes.
When the officer pulled Duque over, she allegedly placed the vehicle in reverse, forcing the officer to move the marked unit to prevent it from being struck.
Police said the woman’s blood alcohol content level was .15, nearly twice the legal limit.
