Tornado warning fo Lower Valley and Far East El Paso

A tornado warning has been issued for southern El Paso County at 6:18 pm until 7:00 pm. Residents of far east El Paso have been reporting egg-sized hail, and there is the chance for baseball size hail.

Flying debris will be dangerous to all those without shelter and may damage or destroy mobile homes. Roofs, windows and vehicles will be damaged by the harsh winds and precipitation.

Areas affected include: Socorro, Horizon, Colonia del Paso, Agua Dulce, Dairyland , and Sparks

If you are at home or in a building move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid all windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle find strong shelter like a building and protect yourself from flying debris.

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located Socorro and Clint, at 6:17 pm moving east at 20 mph.

Rachel Morehouser, a Horizon resident has told ABC-7 it sounds like bombs detonating outside.
