Man stabbed at Pockets Bar & Grill; bouncer arrested for firing warning shots
A fight inside the Pockets Bar and Grill on the Far East Side resulted in a stabbing that left a man seriously wounded, police said.
The fight broke out at about 1:30 a.m. November 2, 2016 shortly after an argument involving two groups of friends.
Bouncers at the bar broke up the fight. The bar is located at 1441 N. Zaragoza.
Investigators said the victim, 24-year-old Oscar Urias, was standing at the doorway when he was pulled outside into the parking lot and stabbed several times.
Both the victim and the offender were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
23-year old Brandon Rodriguez was released from the hospital November 5th and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond.
Police charged Rodriguez with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
An arrest warrant on a charge of “Discharge of a Firearm in Certain Municipalities” was issued for the bouncer, 24-year old Jimmy Martinez.
Police said Martinez fired rounds into the sky during the fight. Martinez was arrested November 8, 2016 and booked under a $1,000 bond.
