A former El Dorado High School classroom aide allegedly admitted to a police detective he had sex with a 16-year-old student inside his home on several occasions, a complaint affidavit states.
Detectives with the Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit arrested David Efren Ordaz, 43, and charged him with Sexual Assault of Child and Improper Relationship between Educator/Student.
Investigators identified Ordaz as a classroom aide at El Dorado High School. The investigation revealed Ordaz had an improper relationship with the student while acting as an employee at the school.
Detectives were called to investigate the alleged sexual assault Monday, October 10, 2016. The victim, now 18 years old, allegedly acknowledged she was in a sexual relationship with Ordaz in between October 2014 and September 2016.
The victim told police it all started in October 2014, when Ordaz would allegedly drive, with the victim as his passenger, around the vicinity of El Dorado High School before school started. The victim told police Ordaz would pull down her underwear and fondle her while he drove around the campus, the court document states. This allegedly went on until March 2015, court documents state.
The victim also told police Ordaz once drove to the parking lot of a public library on the 12400 block of Pebble Hills, where he fondled her. While meeting with detectives, Ordaz allegedly told detectives he had sex with the victim inside his home on the 3800 block of Lyman.
Ordaz worked as a classroom aide in between 2012 and 2016, a Socorro ISD spokesman told ABC-7. Ordaz, no longer employed by the school district, was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. His bonds total $150,000.
The police department is asking anyone with information regarding Ordaz to contact them at (915) 838-8740.
