City to gather input for Paseo de las Luces improvement project

The City of El Paso will host the first of a series of meetings where they will take input from the community on the design for the Sun City Lights project the Paseo de las Luces,

The Paseo de las Luces stretches between South El Paso St. and the Paso del Norte international bridge and the Plaza Theater, which serves as the gateway into El Paso from Ciudad Juarez.

The Sun City Lights initiative aims to highlight entrances to the city’s iconic streets and neighborhoods to create economic development opportunities.

The project combines public art, urban design and neighborhood revitalization strategies.

An archway, tree lights, string lights, improved parking, stalls reserved for food trucks, and more are some of the things t he Paseo de las Luces would include.

The first of three community meetings will happen today, Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the venue Tricky Falls, located at 209 S. El Paso Street from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Anyone is invited to attend and share their thoughts.
