Operation H.O.P.E. brings joy to kids during the holidays

Operation H.O.P.E brought joy to hundreds of kids on Christmas Eve.

The organization had volunteers dress up as superheroes to visit kids in the hospital this holiday season. The super heroes had one objective: bring joy and happiness to the sick kids. The generous act not only surprised the kids, but it also was a huge help to their parents. “Sometimes the parents get more into it and they get more excited than the kids,” one volunteer said. “The kids smiles and you can see that they are happy, but the parents are the ones who are like ‘ Hey, can we take a picture?’ It’s awesome. It’s a good experience for the kids and its an experience the parent will never forget.”

Once the superheroes left the hospital, they went to the Central Police Station for another special mission. The volunteers helped officer deliver more than 300 toys to kids in need across the Borderland.

“It is Christmas and you know what in El Paso there is always a need and not a lot of people know that. But, the police are out there and they see it every day” Rubi Gomez with Operation H.O.P.E said. “That is why we partnered with them to make sure every kid in need has a present to unwrap at Christmas.”

The organization teamed up with Chic-fil-A and Toys R Us to help the kids in need.
