One person injured in early morning house fire

Emergency crews tell ABC-7 one person was taken to the hospital with injuries after an apartment fire in Central El Paso.

The fire broke out just before 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Copia and Hayes. At this point, it is unclear what caused the fire at the one story apartment.

When an ABC-7 crew arrived, there was one fire truck at the scene. No smoke could be seen from the outside.

A firefighter and police officer appeared to be at the door of an apartment. No additional information was released at the scene.

The El Paso City/County Public Alert Notification System reported the incident as an arson.
