Arrests prompt precautionary lockdown at Desertaire Elementary

The arrests of two “suspects” prompted a precautionary lockdown at Desertaire Elementary at about 11:20 am Wednesday, Ysleta ISD officials told ABC-7.

The lockdown at the school, located at 6301 Tiger Eye in Northeast El Paso, was lifted at 11:30 am, officials said.

Parents were at the school as the lockdown went into effect because an early release had been scheduled, officials said.

ABC-7 has reached out to police to learn more about the arrests made in front of the school.
