Canadian man dies after being hit by a vehicle in Deming
Authorities said a Canadian man died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 10 east of Deming.
New Mexico State Police say 64-year-old Sandor Tarkanyi of Ottawa, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
They say a vehicle driven by Tarkanyi was disabled after striking a concrete barrier at a construction zone on Interstate 10 east of Deming.
Police say Tarkanyi got out of the vehicle and was struck in the roadway by another vehicle, suffering fatal injuries.
The name of the other driver wasn’t released and police didn’t say if that person would be facing any charges.
