Authorities: MDC inmate tried to smuggle drugs in rectum

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Two Metropolitan Detention Center inmates are facing more time after they allegedly tried to smuggle drugs into the jail.

KRQE-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2msseno ) that 36-year-old Jason Hurd and 23-year-old David Macias conspired to smuggle drugs into MDC after Hurd was granted a furlough.

Bernalillo County deputies Hurd was hiding the drugs in his rectum and that Macias coordinated with people outside of jail to help Hurd get the drugs.

Macias and Hurd are facing felony charges.
