More room for Aaron Jones? Packers release back Christine Michael
The Green Bay Packers drafted three running backs in the 2017 NFL draft, and had to release some current backs to create room for the new rookies.
The Packers released both running backs Christine Michael and Don Jackson, possibly freeing up more room for former Miner Aaron Jones. While Head coach Mike McCarthy named Ty Montgomery the starter and it looks like former BYU back Jamaal Williams is the clear-cut number 2, Jones isn’t too worried.
“We are different kinds of backs, he’s a bigger back and they see me as an all around, I can catch and everything, so I think they will be using us in different roles,” Jones said. “There definitely will be competition a little bit, and make both of us better.”
It still is quite some time before we see NFL teams start their camps, but in the meantime this can only bring more positive news for UTEP’s all-time leading rusher, and now current cheese head.
