10-year-old girl rescued while hiking up the Franklin Mountains

The El Paso Fire Department said a search-and-rescue rescued a 10-year-old girl late Sunday Morning.

The Fire Department tweeted about the incident around 11:20 a.m. Sunday. Fire officials said the rescue took place at Tom Mays Park near the Aztec trail.

The Fire Department said crews were able to reach the child shortly after 12:50 p.m. Crews reportedly gave the child medical treatment and were able to bring him down the mountain along with an adult.

The child was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
