Felon Accused of Evading Arrest, Possession of a Weapon

Police arrested a man accused of fleeing from officers in Northeast El Paso.

Officials say officers conducted a traffic stop of a white Pontiac G 6 with expired registration at 2:56 a.m., Saturday.

24-year old Author Cadarius Reeves, who police say was the driver of the vehicle, allegedly refused to stop for police and fled through a nearby alley.

Officers with the El Paso Police Department’s Northeast Regional Command Tactical unit say their investigation revealed that Reeves discarded a Mossberg Shotgun from his vehicle as he fled.

Investigators recovered the weapon in the 3900 block of Truman Ave.

Police later located Reeves in an apartment at 3910 Lincoln, where he was arrested.

Reeves was previously convicted of Felony Robbery in Dothan, Alabama.

He is now charged with Unlawful Posession of a Firearm by a Felon and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle.

Reeves was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
