EPPD searching for suspect who allegedly stole guns from shooting range, hit witnesses with a car

El Paso Police are searching for the suspect who they said stole two guns and assaulted witnesses at Sportsman Elite, a shooting range on the west side.

This happened Monday around 3:50 p.m. at 4520 Doniphan.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, mid-twenties to mid-thirties, and last seen wearing a black hat, red shirt, and jeans.

Police said the man walked into the shooting range and walked out with two guns from a display. Witnesses followed him to the parking lot where he entered a gold-colored sedan.

The suspect allegedly hit the victim with his car as he drove off.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Shortly after the robbery, drivers on I-10 east reported a similarly described offender and vehicle involved in a hit and run crash on the freeway.

The drivers involved in that crash were uninjured.

The investigation is on-going.
