“Cultivating Values” books for children in El Paso and Juarez

With the help of a new book series, the Counsel General of Mexico in El Paso, Marcos Bucio, wants to teach values like honesty and respect to children.

The “Cultivating Values” program launched Wednesday for kids eight to ten-years-old in El Paso and Juarez.

Intense research from organizations and schools on both sides of the border went into creating the project, including the U.S., Mexico and Canada Strategic Alliance.

“The children speak the same language on both sides of the border. There is no border when you talk about respect, justice, and honesty,” said Cecilia Levine, president of the alliance. “There are absolutely no borders and it is a theme that has to be taken first in our region, and hopefully this can connect both countries and bring them together.”

Teachers who would like to get the books should contact Bucio at (915) 532-5551 ext.: 259 or email him at prensaepa@sre.gob.mx.
