3-hour SWAT standoff in Las Cruces ends with man in custody

A 46-year-old man is in custody following a three-hour standoff Thursday evening, said a spokesman for the Las Cruces Police Department.

LCPD said around 7 p.m., officers were serving a warrant for aggravated assault on a household member at a home on North Campo St., near the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library in Las Cruces.

The man refused to come out, leading to a S.W.A.T. standoff. Police were able to take the man into custody without incident.

No shots were fired nor injuries reported.
