Police arrest man who allegedly shot four people at Mulligan’s Chopped Hog Bar
The police department’s Gang Unit arrested the suspected shooter in Sunday night’s shooting at Mulligan’s Chopped Hog Bar.
Investigators located 34 -year-old Javier Gonzalez, a Kinfolk Outlaw motorcycle gang member, in San Elizario.
Gonzalez is being booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with bonds totaling $650,000, police said.
His mugshot is not yet available, police said.
Police identified the victims as 61 -year old Juan Martinez, 49-year-old Ballardo Salcido, 36-year-old Juan Miguel Vega-Rivera and 47-year-old David Villalobos.
Police said a fight involving two groups believed to be involved with gangs broke out inside the bar. One of the groups was asked to leave. Gonzalez later returned to the bar and allegedly shot the victims.
The shooting is suspected to be gang related and the shooter was believed to be targeting victims, Detective Michael Baranyay said.
A “Summarized Suspension of Licensee Premise” has been imposed on Mulligan’s Chopped Hog Bar at 1810 George Dieter.
The suspension went into effect July 31, 2017 and will be in effect for seven days, police said.
Police further stated the suspension is the “direct consequence of the shooting that occurred Sunday night” and that the action was initiated by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
