EPPD identifies motorcyclist killed on Elm Street, search for hit-and-run driver continues

Police identified the motorcyclist killed Wednesday evening as 29-year-old Raymone Calhoun. The search for the hit-and-run driver who allegedly hit and killed Calhoun continues.

An investigation revealed Calhoun was riding a Kawasaki 900 motorcycle north on the 2400 block of Elm Street.

At the same time, police said, the driver of an “older model, bluish-green sedan” was traveling west on the 2800 block of Savannah.

Police said the driver of the sedan, believed to be a man in between the ages of 18 and 20, failed to stop at the stop sign and pulled in front of the Kawasaki.

The ensuing collision caused Calhoun to be ejected from the motorcycle, police said. The driver of the sedan allegedly fled the scene without offering help, police said.

Calhoun sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to University Medical Cente, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Calhoun was not wearing a helmet.

Anyone with information regarding the driver of the sedan or the identity of the driver is asked to call the El Paso Police Department at 915.832.4400.

To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 915.566.8477.
