Dodgers headed to World Series after 11-1 win over Cubs in Game 5

Enrique Hernandez hit three homers and drove in seven runs to propel Los Angeles to the World Series.

The Dodgers, coming off a 3-2 loss to the Cubs in game four, bounced back with a dominant 11-1 performance in the fifth game of the series.

Clayton Kershaw pitched six innings, surrendering one run and just three hits.

But “Kike” Hernandez stole the show with a solo shot in the first, a grand slam in the third, and a two run shot for good measure in the ninth to lead his team to the World Series.

The Dodgers avenged last year’s loss in six games to the Cubs in the NLCS.

They will meet the winner of the Astros and Yankees, a series the Yankees currently lead three games to two.

It’ll mark the first appearance for the Dodgers in the Fall Classic since winning the title in 1988.

Manager Dave Roberts has already indicated he plans to give the ball to Kershaw in the opening game of the World Series.
