Sheriff’s Office investigating homicide in Horizon City

The man shot behind the AT&T store near Horizon Boulevard and Darrington Road, identified as 22-year-old Erik Aragon, was pronounced dead at a local hospital Sunday, November 5, 2017.

Aragon, of Horizon City, was found unresponsive at about 10pm Friday, November 3, 2017.

The Criminal Investigations Major Crimes Unit with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is now handling the investigation, a county spokeswoman said.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area of the McDonald’s restaurant located at the intersection of Horizon Boulevard and Darrington Road on Saturday, November 04, 2017 at approximately 10:00 pm to contact them.
