Crews battle large fire in northeast El Paso

The El Paso Fire Department said crews were on the scene of a large fire at an apartment complex located on the 3700 block of Keltner Avenue.

A spokesperson with the El Paso Fire Department said the fire happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire officials said no one was injured but several residents were displaced from their homes. The American Red Cross said it is stepping in to help six families who were displaced from their homes.

A fire spokesperson said the cause appears to be accidental and it was mainly contained to a single apartment with smoke damage throughout the building.
