EPPD: Traffic stop led to arrest of man with more than 24 bricks of cocaine

Investigators with anti-narcotics task force arrested and charged an El Paso man allegedly caught with more than 58 pounds of Cocaine.

Police officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Alfredo Sifuentes Mota during the course of an ongoing investigation.

Police said Sifuentes was driving a Toyota Corolla 80 miles per hour in a 60 mile per hour zone on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at about 1:30 p.m.

During the traffic stop, police officers allegedly found six bricks of cocaine inside the Toyota.

Police said officers later discovered Sifuentes Mota was in possession of 18 more bricks of cocaine at a residence in the 1100 block of Montana.

In the end, police allegedly seized 24 bricks of cocaine with a total weight of 58.35 pounds.

Sifuentes Mota was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $200,000 bond. Police charged him with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
