El Paso man charged with insurance fraud
An El Paso man has been charged with insurance fraud after allegedly reporting a false burglary last month. Jonathan Dobbins, 31, allegedly called police early last December to report a vehicular burglary on the 12000 block of Village Gate.
Dobbins allegedly said that electronic items were stolen from his vehicle and reported them stolen to his insurance company and police. An investigation revealed that he was actually in possession of the items he reported stolen.
Investigators were able to obtain a warrant for Dobbin’s arrest on insurance fraud charges and he was taken into custody last Monday, January 22nd. He was also found to be allegedly in possession of Marijuana (under 2 ounces) at the time of his arrest and was booked into the El Paso County Jail on both warrants with bonds totaling $25,300.
