Woman seeks help in finding man who ran over her husband
In the early morning of Jan. 23, the Terrance Hill Apartments were strewn with crime tape and investigators scouring the scene for clues.
El Paso police said Antonio Martin was assaulted.
“I was already in bed and my sister-in-law calls me at 1 a.m. and she told me Tony had an accident,” said Vanessa Cordova, Martin’s wife.
“I was in shock. I didn’t know how to feel. I didn’t know what to do. We have children so I wasn’t able to rush by his side,” Cordova said.
Cordova told ABC-7 her husband got into an argument with another man in the parking lot and the situation escalated.
“The man reversed his vehicle and then ran over him,” Cardova said.
But it didn’t end there.
“He went forward. Then Tony stood up and then he reversed into him again,” Cordova said.
Martin suffered serious injuries to his legs and head and was taken to the hospital.
Cordova said her husband is currently unable to walk.
“He does have internal bleeding in his head and he also has bruising to his brain,” Cordova said.
Martin described his attacker as a Hispanic man between 18 and 25 years old with short dark hair.
Martin was also able to provide a description of the car to his wife.
“He has a black Challenger 2015-2016,” Cordova said.
Cordova said it is likely there are signs of damage on the man’s car.
“The third time he went forward, that’s when he crashed the vehicle. So his vehicle should have damage in the front and the right-hand side,” Cordova said.
Cordova pleads with residents to come forward with any information.
“He obviously didn’t have any remorse in running him over so we just want to get him off the street,” Cordova said.
Police have not made any arrests and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
