Middle Tennessee blows out UTEP, 81-50

The UTEP Miners were just outplayed in every phase of the game Saturday night in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

The Miners lost to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders by a final of 81-50.

UTEP knew this game was going to be tough.

Middle Tennessee entered the game in first place of Conference USA and they were looking for some revenge in Saturday’s contest.

Last season, UTEP was the only C-USA team to beat the Blue Raiders during the conference schedule.

Middle Tennessee would go on to win the C-USA Championship.

The Blue Raiders would not let history repeat itself as they dominated the Miners from the opening tip-off.

Middle Tennessee would go into the half with a 30-17 lead.

UTEP never had a lead in this game and the Blue Raiders continued to dominate in the second half.

Blue Raiders shot 50% from the field, while UTEP shot 33%.

The loss puts the Miners in last place of the C-USA standings.

UTEP’s overall record falls to 7-14 while their conference record falls to 2-7.

It was UTEP’s 3rd straight loss.

Miners return to El Paso for a 3 game home stand that begins Thursday when the Miners host Western Kentucky.

The Hilltoppers are currently in 2nd place of C-USA with an overall record of 15-6, 7-1 in conference play.
