Furniture manufacturer to bring millions in investment to El Paso
A furniture manufacturer will be making the move to El Paso, bringing 18 new job opportunities a long with it.
South Shore Furniture announced the acquisition of six acres of land and an investment of $8 million in El Paso’s Vista del Sol District. The company will build a new 132,000 square feet building and will create 18 jobs that will pay above the median hourly wage for El Paso County.
“El Paso’s strategic location along the U.S.-Mexico border and its connectivity throughout North America makes it the obvious place for us to create a foundation for further growth,” Vice-president of Supply Chain and Logistics at South Shore Jean Fortin said.
South Shore’s announcement of its expansion to El Paso comes after significant investments were made the past decade in its Juarez manufacturing operations.
“El Paso’s business friendly environment and our strategic location keeps attracting leading companies to invest in our region and in our people. We are excited about South Shore’s decision to grow its operations here and look forward to working with the company,” El Paso Mayor Dee Margo said.
The company is recruiting in areas such as distribution, logistics, costumer service and information technology.
Established in 1940, currently South Shore also takes advantage of the powerful web platforms run by the most important online players such as Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair and others.
