Judge grants bond to mother charged in death of infant daughter
A Las Cruces judge granted bond to the mother accused of shaking her infant child to death, denying the state’s request for pre-trial detention.
Judge Douglas Driggers granted 19-year-old Lorena Caricia Ceballos a $50,000 cash or surety bond, on the conditions that she have no contact with a witness in the case, have no contact with the co-defendant (her boyfriend), that she live with her grandparents and have no contact with any child under the age of eighteen.
Ceballos and her boyfriend, 19-year-old Marcus Minnick, are accused of shaking their seven-week-old daughter, Mattie Minnick, to death.
