Vandals in Austin target statue dedicated to legendary blues man Stevie Ray Vaughan
Vandals in Austin tagged a statue dedicated to legendary blues singer/guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan.
The statue is located on the south shore of Lady Bird Lake.
The Austin American Statesman reports police are aware of the graffiti, which appears to have been partially removed.
The Statesman reports three people walking along a lake trail first noticed the graffiti Monday, when the white paint was much brighter.

Vaughan, born and raised in Dallas, Texas, began playing guitar at the age of seven. He dropped out of high school in 1971 and moved to Austin, where he performed with numerous bands and musicians.
Vaughan and his band, Double Trouble, rose to fame after a performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1982.
The singer/guitarist was immediately signed by a record label, and in 1983, released his debut studio album: Texas Flood.
Vaughan died in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990, at the age of 35.
