Doa Ana County reports early voting numbers for $50 million Las Cruces Public School bond

Doña Ana County reports a little more than 5,000 voted in favor of the bond and about 630 voting against it. The numbers are unofficial tallies.

If approved, the money would partly be used to expand, remodel, and furnish schools and buy computer equipment. The district will apply for matching funds from the state for certain projects.

The Gadsden school district is asking for $38-million for similar projects in its own district. It too, would apply for matching state funds.
