EPPD investigators arrest two accused of trafficking heroin

Investigators with a narcotics task force arrested a man and a woman accused of trafficking heroin.

66-year-old Pilar Martinez, of Socorro, Texas; and 24-year-old Gabriel Gonzalez, of Juarez, Mexico, were charged with “Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Heroin) Over 400 grams.”

Investigators participating in an ongoing investigation conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation in the 9500 block of North Loop.

Martinez, the driver pulled over, was allegedly in possession of more than two-and-a-half pounds of heroin.

Police said the investigation revealed Gonzalez delivered the heroin to Martinez.

The arrests were made shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday, April, 5, 2018.

Gonzalez was booked into the county jail on a $300,000 bond. Martinez was booked into the county jail on a $150,000 bond.
