Man accused of exposing himself in front of teenage girl

Las Cruces police arrested a man suspected of exposing himself in front of a teenage girl early Sunday morning.

Carlos Marcado, 31, who resides on west Gallagher Avenue, is charged with a single count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Investigators learned that during the early-morning hours of Sunday, June 10, 2018, Gallagher and the alleged victim were sleeping in the same room, but on different sofas.

At about 2 a.m., the girl awoke to find Marcado lying down next to her. The girl questioned Marcado, who apologized and went back to the other sofa, police said.

The girl told investigators that, later that morning, she awoke again to find Marcado naked and standing over her. The girl again questioned Marcado who, once again, went back to the other sofa. The girl told investigators she was unable to fall asleep after the second incident.

Investigators learned Marcado exchanged messages with the girl via social media after the alleged incident. The messages gave credence to the girl’s allegations, police said.

Marcado was arrested Sunday evening and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center, where he is initially being held without bond.
