Police looking for suspect in Family Dollar ‘smash and grab’

Police are asking the public for information that helps identify the man suspected of breaking into a Family Dollar store on May 18. Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

The burglary happened at about 12:05 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Family Dollar store at 1450 N. Solano Dr.

Las Cruces Police officers discovered a smashed window near the entrance of the store. Video surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, seen smashing the window and entering the store.

The suspect appears to be wearing dark clothing with a gray hoodie and black baseball cap. He’s also wearing a black backpack.

Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app. “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.

Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers do not have to provide their own name and can remain completely anonymous.
