Bruce Dern making appearance during Plaza Classic Film Festival

Bruce Dern, the father of actress Laura Dern, and star of movies “Nebraska” and “Coming Home” will be making a celebrity appearance during the El Paso Community Foundation Plaza Classic Film Festival in August.

Dern, a two-time Academy Award nominee, will be having on-stage interviews leading up to the showing of “Nebraska” and “Coming Home” on August 10 and 11 respectively. Tickets are running $10 for each appearance.

He will also be signing autographs August 11 in the El Paso Community Foundation’s Foundation Room, 333 N. Oregon Street. There is a charge for autographs.

Dern has roles in three other movies showing at this year’s PCFF, but he will not be appearing with them: “Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid,” “Hang ‘Em High,” and “All the Pretty Horses.”

Some may recognize Dern from his role as General Sandy Smithers in Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight.”
