House fire kills 5 kittens in East El Paso
A home caught fire Thursday morning in East El Paso.
Three people inside evacuated when they heard their fire alarm just before 4:30 a.m. The homeowner told ABC-7 the fire killed five kittens. A dog and two cats were able to escape.
The fire happened on the 1600 block of Dick Ritter St., not far from Vista Del Sol and George Dieter Drives.
Neighbors said they could see flames coming from the roof.
Fire crews were able to put the fire out quickly, containing the fire to the one house.
There is severe damage to the back of the house.
Authorities haven’t said what caused the fire or if the home is a total loss.
