Las Cruces Police searching for person responsible for hit-and-run crash

Las Cruces Crime stoppers need your help to find the person responsible for a hit-and-run crash that sent one person to the hospital.

It happened Saturday July 14 on the 2600 block of West Picacho Ave. According to Las Cruces Police, a 49-year-old man was struck by a sedan traveling west as he was walking north on Picacho Ave.

The man was sent to University Medical Center where he remains hospitalized with non life-threating injuries.

Police recovered the driver-side mirror that broke off during the crash. They believe the vehicle that fled is a dark-blue, 4 door Honda that could appear to have damage to the front of the sedan.

Police also believe the person responsible has changed their usual routine and has possibly taken the vehicle for repair or garaged.

Anyone with information is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.”

A possible reward for information that leads to the identification of the driver of the vehicle is up to $1000.
