Aaron Jones brings football camp back to El Paso

Former UTEP star Aaron Jones is back in the Borderland for year two of his annual kids camp.

Jones, who is entering his second year with the Packers, hosted a camp Thursday at the Sun Bowl for kids age five through those entering seventh grade.

“Just two days of a lot of fun, kids getting a chance to learn how to play football,” said Jones. “And for the older kids who do know how to play football, getting a chance to see them compete.”

The camp will continue Friday for players entering eighth grade through incoming high school seniors.

The free camp runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Players are advised to get there close to 3 p.m., however, to sign in.

Aaron hosted last year’s camp alongside brother Alvin Jones, who is currently at training camp with the Baltimore Ravens.

Aaron and the Packers will open up training camp in a week on July 26, giving Aaron a chance to catch up with kids in his hometown this week.
