Award-winning speakers to attend mental health lifesaver event at Alamo Drafthouse

El Pasoans are invited to attend a free mental health awareness event happening Friday at the Alamo Draft House Cinema.

The event, hosted by Emergence Health Network, is set to teach the El Paso community to learn the signs and responses when someone is having a mental health crisis.

“Just about everyone can feel overwhelmed at times, maybe even feel anxiety, depression or deal with a wide range of situations they can’t coping with” Kristi Daugherty, CEO Emergence Health Network said. “Some people could be thinking about ending their life. That is why events such as the EHN Lifesaver Rally are so important to have when addressing the behavioral health of our community.”

There will be award-winning, global speakers attending Friday’s event.

Kevin Hines is a bestselling author and filmmaker who shares his experience with Bipolar Disorder and surviving a suicide attempt off San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.

Also attending the event, Mark Lukach, the author of an international bestselling memoir about his early marriage that was affected by his wife’s battle with mental illness.

The free event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m. The Alamo Draft House Cinema is located at 250 Montecillo Blvd. on El Paso’s west side.
